Box Score Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Women's Basketball team picked up their fourth straight win on Monday evening as they dominated visiting York, 86-24, at West Quad. All thirteen Bulldogs who suited up scored in the victory, the 10th of the season for Brooklyn, who improved to 10-2, 6-0 CUNYAC, with the win. York falls to 1-13, 1-5 CUNYAC.
"We came out and played loose and fun basketball tonight," said head coach
Alex Lang. "I thought we pushed the ball well in transition and moved the ball extremely well in the halfcourt. Our players are showing a lot of growth and look to be ready to continue to improve as we move into the heart of our conference schedule."
The Bulldogs controlled the game from the opening tip, as the starting unit played for the first 4:01 of the quarter, outscoring the Cardinals 14-0, when coach
Alex Lang called a time out and put in five reserves. That group continued the run, scoring four straight to expand the lead to 18-0, before York's Juliet Matthews finally got her team on the board with a jumper.
The first quarter ended with the score 23-7, but the second quarter saw even more domination from Brooklyn, outscoring York 30-0 and claiming a 53-7 halftime lead. 11 of the 13 Brooklyn players scored in the first half, with all 13 seeing substantial action.
Justine Vento led all scorers with 12 points in the half on 4-5 from outside the arc.
In the second half, the pace slowed some, but Brooklyn controlled throughout, outscoring York 33-17.
The Bulldogs dominated every statistical category, out-rebounding York 48-26, while dishing out 25 assists as a unit, and only committing eight turnovers.
Vento notched a game-high 15 points, while
Alexandra Moogan added 12 off the bench.
Maya Ajee-Thomas had seven blocked shots in only 13 minutes of action, while
Taylor Gallagher had a game-high five assists.
Brooklyn will be back at West Quad Wednesday when the host Baruch at 5 pm.
