Box Score 2 Madison, NJ---Riding a five-game win-streak heading into today's tri-match at Fairleigh Dickinson University, the Brooklyn College women's volleyball team was upended in both matches this afternoon. In their first match of the day, the Bulldogs fell to Alvernia University, 3-1 (20-25, 25-16, 25-21, 25-19). Brooklyn dropped their other match of the day to the host, 3-0 (25-9, 25-21, 25-14). Brooklyn moves to 12-7 with the losses. BC has a huge conference tri-match on Monday at Hunter College where they will take on the host and John Jay College for either first or second place in the CUNYAC standings.
Match Notes vs. Alvernia
-The Bulldogs would win the first game, despite trailing Alvernia 4-0 to start. Trailing 14-12, the Bulldogs made their push with a six-point rally, which included two kills put away by senior outside hitter,
Sarina Rozek, and service ace by freshman setter
Kate Meltsin. BC would hang on to the lead despite a late Alvernia run.
-In the second game, Alvernia started off hot once again and maintained control through the game, scoring seven of the last eight points.
-BC responded in the third game, taking an early 10-5 lead. However, Alvernia used a seven-point rally to retake the lead for good.
-Alvernia controlled the fourth game from the opening serve, building a cushion to close out the match.

Match Notes vs. FDU
-After falling behind, 2-0 in the first game, junior outside hitter
Michaela Appel evened the score with back-to-back kills. FDU would take the lead for good beginning with a four-point rally. BC would not have an answer.
-Brooklyn grabbed a 5-1 lead to start the second the game. However, the host team used a seven-point rally to take a 9-6 lead. The teams would battle for the remainder of the game with the home team keeping the slight edge to close out the game.
-FDU rolled in the third game, putting three to four-point clusters together before closing out the match with a five-point rally.
