Union, NJ---Led by freshman forward, Chanel Jemmott's 16 point, 21 rebound effort in her BC debut, the Brooklyn College women's basketball team pulled out a 60-53 win in their season opener at Kean University this evening. The Bulldogs continue the 2017-18 season on the road as they travel to Buffalo State this weekend for the Buffalo State Tournament. On Friday, the Bulldogs will take on the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburgh before playing the host, Bengals, on Saturday.

-The Cougars didn't lay down in the fourth period, pulling within a point of the Bulldogs with 2:37 left in the game. However, a Jemmott lay-in extended BC's lead back to three on the next possession, and fastbreak lay-up finished by freshman guard Taylor George gave the Bulldogs a two-possession lead with 1:38 to go.
