Buffalo, NY---The Brooklyn College women's basketball team improved to 2-0 to start the 2017-18 season this afternoon, cruising to an 81-36 victory over the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg in the first game of the Buffalo State Tournament. BC will take on the host, Buffalo State, tomorrow at 1:00 pm.
How It Happened
-Twelve Bulldogs would see action this afternoon with ten Brooklyn players scoring at least one bucket.
-With the game tied 6-6 with just over four minutes left in the first quarter, the Bulldogs would go on a 9-1 run capped by a made three shot by junior guard,
Grace Martinez-Espina. BC's momentum would carry into the second quarter with an 8-0 run to take a 16-point lead with 7:38 remaining in the first half. The Bulldogs continued their dominance for the remainder of the first half, leading by as many as 26 points, and heading into halftime with a 38-16 advantage.
-Brooklyn opened the second half with a 16-0 run and never looked back.

-Freshman forward Chanel Jemmott scored a team-high 17 points, grabbed seven rebounds, blocked two shots, and finished with a pair of steals.
-Junior wing,
Alexandra Moogan, scored 14 points including four makes from beyond the arc.
-Freshman guard, Taylor George, added 13 points including shooting 3-6 from beyond the arc.
-Junior guard,
Emma Somers, was productive off of the bench, shooting 3-5 from the floor for seven points and dished out four assists.
Leading the Cougars
-Kelsey Oddis scored a team-high 17 points and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds for the contest's lone double-double.
-Nadege Durand added seven points.
