Brooklyn, NY---Putting out a tough defensive effort and making key plays throughout the game, the Brooklyn College women's basketball team held off New York University, 55-46, at the West Quad Center tonight to improve to 6-1 to start the season. NYU drops to 4-4 with the loss. The Bulldogs return to CUNYAC action at Lehman College on Friday at 7:00 pm, following the men's game.
How It Happened
-The Bulldogs held the Violets to 25.4% shooting from the field including 16.7% from beyond the arc tonight.
-Leading 48-44, the Bulldogs' freshman guard Ericka Fenelus gathered an offensive rebound and dished it to junior guard
Emma Somers who scooped in with 2:38 left in regulation to give BC the six-point advantage.
-Coming out halftime with a six-point advantage, the Bulldogs would lead by as many as 13 points in the third quarter.
