Brooklyn Improves to 10-2 on Season, Defeating Medgar Evers

Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Women's Basketball team picked up their third straight win, and improved to 10-2 on the year, cruising past Medgar Evers, 79-35. The Bulldogs also improve to 3-1 in conference play.  The team will be right back to the West Quad tomorrow with a 1 pm game vs. non-conference opponent, St. Elizabeth.

How It Happened

-All 11 players who dressed saw action for Brooklyn.
-The Bulldogs outscored the Cougars 25-3 to start the game.

Box Score Breakdown 

-BC boasted 26 assists as a team, and shot 52% from three-point range.
-The Cougars got many of their chances from the line, taking 26 ft's in the contest.
-Brooklyn forced 35 Cougar turnovers.

Leading the Bulldogs
-Taylor George led all scorers with 16 points in only 15 minutes of action.
-Alexandra Moogan chipped in with 15 points, while only playing 14 minutes.
-Karen Mak topped the assist column with 8, while Michelle Pena added 5 off the bench to go along with six points.
-Grace Martinez-Espina led all reserves with 11 points, while Breanna Maresca (9) and Chanel Jemmott (8) also came up big off the Bulldog bench.
-Weronica Green led Brooklyn with 11 boards.  The senior added five points and three assists.

Leading the Cougars
-Sharena Mellor had a game-high 16 rebounds to lead the Cougars.
-Cyndi Whyte led Medgar with 12 points.
