WEST QUAD CENTER Brooklyn, NY---For the first time in 11 seasons, St. Joesph's College Brooklyn handed the Brooklyn College women's basketball team its third loss in a row, 81-79, this evening in overtime. Brooklyn moves to 3-3 overall with the loss while the Bears improved to 7-3 with the non-conference victory. The Bulldogs will look to bounce back at home against Montclair State on Friday, December 14, at 5:30 pm at the West Quad Center.
How It Happened
-With the Bears leading BC, 78-74, with 2:06 remaining in overtime, Brooklyn junior guard,
Alexandra Moogan, knocked down a three to cut the St. Joe's lead to one with 1:10 to go. The Bears responded with a pair of free-throws on the ensuing possession. BC sophomore guard,
Taylor George, knocked down a pair of free throws to cut the lead back to one with 27 seconds remaining in overtime. Brooklyn's last chance fell short after a Bear free throw make with 13 ticks on the clock.
-Trailing 72-71 with just under five seconds to go in regulation, BC senior forward,
Jasmine Hansgen, hit the second of two free throws and stole the Bears' ensuing in-bounds pass to force overtime.
-Brooklyn relinquished a 14-point hold on the Bears early in the fourth period. Still leading by eight points, 67-59, St. Joe's would go on a 10-2 run sparked by back-to-back three-point makes, to tie the game, 69-69, with 3:18 remaining in the fourth period.
-The Bulldogs led by as many as 18 points in the third period.
-Brooklyn got out to a sluggish start and would trail the Bears, 17-16, after the first period.
-The Bears shot 8-26 from beyond the arc to the Bulldogs' 4-26 for the contest.
-Brooklyn out-rebounded St. Joe's 26-15 on the offensive boards.

-Prior to fouling out in the fourth period, sophomore forward,
Chanel Jemmott, scored 15 points and grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds.
Leading the Bears
-Victoria Porcasi scored a game-high 33 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
-Kelly O'Donnell added 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.
-Caitlyn Staab grabbed a game-high 17 boards on the evening.
