Brooklyn Falls at Cairn in CSAC Challenge Game, 85-73

Langhorne, PA---The Brooklyn College Men's Basketball team dropped their final non-conference game of the regular season this afternoon, falling at Cairn University, 85-73, in the CUNYAC/CSAC Challenge.  Brooklyn moves to 6-15 with the loss while Cairn improves to 6-14 with the victory.  The Bulldogs return to their final stretch of conference games beginning on Tuesday at Baruch at 7:30 pm. 

How It Happened

-With the game tied, 51-51, with 13:13 left in regulation, the home team went on an 11-5 run to take a 65-56 lead at the 9:00 mark.  Brooklyn cut the lead to seven on the ensuing possession following a Henry O'Reilly make in the paint, but that is the closest the Bulldogs would get for the rest of the game. 
-Brooklyn had its last lead, 49-48, after an Alpha Bah lay-in with 15:00 minutes to go in regulation.  The lay-in capped an 11-0 run by the Bulldogs after finding themselves down ten, 48-38, in the first 1:13 of the second half. 
-The first half was played closely with the Highlanders keeping a slim lead the majority of the way before heading into halftime with a 42-36 advantage. 

Box Score Breakdown 

-Five Cairn players reachd double-figures in scoring including four starters. 
-Cairn shot 46% from beyond the arc to BC's 31%. 
-Brooklyn shot 77% from the free throw line to Cairn's 62%. 

Leading the Bulldogs

-Ben Batash scored a team-high 17 points while shooting 2-4 from behind the arc and 5-5 from the charity stripe. 
-Niv Konfino recorded a double-double finishing with 13 points and 10 rebounds. 
-Henry O'Reilly scored 13 points off of the bench, draining three three-pointers for the game. 

Leading the Highlanders

-Jordan Koczman scored a game-high 18 points. 
-Malachi Hall recorded a double-double with 15 points and 11 assists.
-Antoine Nunnally also recorded a double-double finishing with 11 points and 13 rebounds.
