Bronx, NY---The Brooklyn College women's basketball team rolled to its second CUNYAC win in a row to start the New Year this afternoon, defeating Lehman College, 74-26, to improve to 3-0 in CUNYAC and 6-5 overall. Lehman drops to 1-11 overall and 1-3 in the conference with the loss at home. Next up: Brooklyn hosts CUNYAC rival, College of Staten Island, at the West Quad Center on Monday, January 7. Tip-off is set for 5:00 pm.
How It Happened
-The Bulldogs dominated the Lightning from the opening tip-off jumping out to a 20-4 lead at the end of the first quarter. Senior wing,
Alexandra Moogan, closed out the quarter with back-to-back makes from beyond the arc.
-Brooklyn continued to cruise and ended the game with its largest lead of the contest.
-BC kept Lehman to 20% shooting on the afternoon and forced 31 Lightning turnovers to the Bulldogs' 15.
-Junior guard,
Grace Martinez-Espina, had another strong showing off of the bench finishing with 11 points in 27 minutes of action.
Leading the Bulldogs
-Moogan scored a game-high 25 points while shooting 5-8 from beyond the arc and grabbed 12 rebounds for her first double-double of the season. Sophomore forward,
Chanel Jemmott, also finished with a double-double for the game, scoring 18 points and grabbing 12 boards.
-Freshman guard,
Kayla Trembone, dished out a game-high seven assists in her first start of the season.

-Eriadna Vasquez scored a team-high nine points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
-Lisa Fields added eight points and four rebounds.
