Bulldogs' Comeback Falls Short Against CCNY, 77-75

Jamaica, NY---Despite overcoming an 18-point second half deficit, the Brooklyn College men's basketball team wasn't able to complete the comeback against CCNY this afternoon in conference play.  The Bulldogs move to 13-10 and 8-6 in CUNYAC with the loss while CCNY improved to 6-17 and 6-8 in the league.  Brooklyn will host its final regular season home game on Monday against John Jay College on Senior Night.  Tip-off is set for 7:15 pm.  

How It Happened

-Trailing the Beavers, 67-49, with 7:26 remaining in regulation, the Bulldogs made their move beginning with a 12-1 run sparked by a made three buried by junior guard, Anthony McClean. Down 75-67 with a tick under two minutes to go in the second half, Brooklyn went on an 8-0 run to tie the game with :57 to go.  The run included back-to-back threes made by junior guard, Michael Tesoriero, and McClean, who tied the game.  The Beavers made one free-throw before missing the second and splitting the next opportunity at the charity stripe for the go-ahead scores.  Brooklyn had a chance to tie or go ahead with :17 remaining but its shot from beyond the arc fell short.  
-Brooklyn shot 58.8% free-throw line in the second half to CCNY's 75%.
-The Beavers out-rebounded the Bulldogs 13-11 on the offensive boards for the game.  
-CCNY's Ty-Ler Banks and Romello Rashad combined for 49 points. 

Leading the Bulldogs

-Junior guard, Jordan Wright, scored a team-high 23 points.
-Junior forward, Jade Spencer, added 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds.  
-Tesoriero also flirted with a double-double scoring 14 points and grabbing nine boards.
-McClean dropped ten points off of the bench while connecting on both of his threes in the second half.  

Leading the Beavers

-Banks scored a game-high 25 points and grabbed 18 rebounds.  
-Romello Rashad scored 24 points while making 5-10 from beyond the arc.
