BC Rolls Past CCNY, Improves to 5-0 in CUNYAC

New York, NY---Improving to 5-0 in conference play, the Brooklyn College women's basketball team cruised to a 90-43 CUNYAC win on the road at CCNY this evening.  Brooklyn improves to 10-5 overall with the win while the Beavers drop to 1-14 overall and 1-5 in CUNYAC.  Next up, the Bulldogs host John Jay College for the first part of another CUNYAC doubleheader at the West Quad Center on Wednesday, January 22, at 5pm. 

Game Summary
-With eleven different Bulldogs scoring tonight, four reached double-figures. 
-Grabbing the lead and keeping it for the entire game, the Bulldogs jumped out to a 13-2 lead to start the contest.  The Beavers chipped away at the Bulldog lead thanks in part to a 6-0 run, cutting BC's lead to 17-10 by the end of the first quarter.   
-Brooklyn continued to control the game in the second quarter and after back-to-back made threes buried by junior guard, Taylor George, the Bulldogs were up 30-14 with 4:21 left in the first half. 
-Already leading 38-22 heading into the second half, the Bulldogs blew game wide open in the third quarter, taking a 69-29 lead after a 10-0 run capped by a fast break layup finished by senior guard, Kailyn Richburg with :16 to go. 
-BC was in cruise control in the fourth quarter, taking their largest lead (47) of the game.  
-The Brooklyn bench outscored the Beavers' 41-4 for the game. 

Leading BC
-Junior forward Chanel Jemmott and freshman guard Ericka James scored 16 points.  James shot 4-10 from beyond the arc for the game. Jemmott grabbed seven rebounds.
-George added 13 points while shooting 3-6 from three.
-Richburg scored 12 points off of the bench and came up with five steals on the defensive end.  
-Freshman center Sarah Labiner flirted with a double-double off of the bench finishing with eight points and a game-high 10 rebounds.  

Leading CCNY
-Reilly Boehm scored a game-high 26 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
-Melanie Torres added eight points.
