Jamaica, NY---Remaining undefeated in conference play, the Brooklyn College women's basketball team cruised to their fourth straight win on the road tonight, defeating York College, 75-41. BC improves to 12-5 overall with the win and 7-0 in CUNYAC while the Cardinals drop to 6-12 (3-6 CUNYAC). The Bulldogs will look to keep it going against borough conference foe, Medgar Evers, on Tuesday, January 28, at 5pm.
Game Summary
-Jumping out to a 6-0 lead to start the contest, Brooklyn took an 18-11 following a made three buried by junior forward,
Chanel Jemmott.
-Already leading by seven points, the Bulldogs went on a 13-0 run sparked by a made three drained by senior guard,
Kailyn Richburg. Brooklyn took a 37-17 halftime lead as freshman guard
Ericka James sunk a jumper with two seconds to go in the first half.
-Brooklyn continued to roll to start the second half with a 9-0 run capped by a made three by freshman guard,
Sarah James. The Bulldogs never looked back, leading by as many as 43 points in the fourth quarter.
-The Bulldogs turned plenty of their defense into offense, scoring 27 points off of York's 28 turnovers.
-Brooklyn's depth would also wear down the Cardinals as the BC bench outscored York's 25-6 for the game.
