New York, NY---Solidifying their regular season conference championship, the Brooklyn College women's basketball team outlasted John Jay College this afternoon, 79-64, to remain undefeated (13-0) in conference play. Brooklyn improves to 18-6 overall with the win while John Jay moves to 13-11 overall and 10-3 in CUNYAC. The Bulldogs will look to run the table in their conference slate as they host Medgar Evers on Tuesday, February 18, in the first part of a CUNYAC doubleheader on Senior Night at 5pm.
How It Happened
- Clinging to a 43-39 lead with 6:52 left in the third quarter, the Bulldogs craked the game wide open with a 15-2 run capped by layup finished by freshman center, Sarah Labiner, with just under a minute to go.
- Junior guard, Taylor George, kicked BC's lead up to 20 points on the first possession of the fourth quarter with a three-point make. Brooklyn led by as many as 23 points in the final quarter.
- Trailing 28-26 with 4:26 to go in the first half, George knocked down a three to spark a 9-0 run capped by a made three by freshman guard, Sarah James, a little less than a minute later. Brooklyn would keep the lead from that point on.
