Brooklyn Rolls to Second Straight Win to Start the Season

Farmingdale, NY---Brooklyn College Women's Basketball rolled to their second straight win, starting the 2021-22 campaign on Thursday evening over Farmingdale, 83-52. The Bulldogs spoiled the Rams' Season Opener this evening. BC will look to keep their streak going this Saturday at home against Clarks Summit at 1pm.  

After the home team scored the opening basket of the contest, the Bulldogs responded with an 11-0 run, including 8 points scored by senior forward, Chanel Jemmott.  Brooklyn never looked back from that point on, as the Bulldogs would head into halftime with an 18-point lead and end the game with their largest advantage of the contest.  

Jemmott lead the way with 24 points and 14 rebounds for BC. Junior guard, Gianna Gotti, continued the Bulldogs' strong start by adding 22 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, and 9 steals. Junior forward, Ericka James, had the game's other double-double finishing with 17 points and 12 rebounds, while connecting on 3 of the three-point field goals.  

Brooklyn held the Rams to 29.3% shooting from the field on the night while shooting 43.5%. The Bulldogs shot well from the charity stripe as a team, shooting 76.7% (23-30).  

Farmingdale was paced by Layla Mendoza's team-high 11 points.
