Brooklyn, NY---The BC Women's Basketball team dropped their first game of the season, falling to Kean, 64-58, at home on Friday night. Brooklyn moves to 3-1 with the non-conference loss while Kean improves to 2-4 with the victory. Brooklyn will look to bounce back on Tuesday, November 23 in a local non-conference matchup against St. Joseph's Brooklyn at home at 7:15 pm.
BC senior forward led all scorers with 27 points to go along with a game-high 12 rebounds. Junior forward
Ericka James added eight points while shooting a perfect 6-6 from the free-throw line.
With the Bulldogs only trailing by two points, 56-54, following a Jemmott finish in the paint with 2:40 left in regulation, the Cougars responded with back-to-back three-point makes capped at the 1:43 mark to put BC away for good. Kean had 13 three-point field goal makes on the night to Brooklyn's two.
Kean was led by Shannon McCoy's team-high 20 points. Brittany Graff added 14 points to go along with a game-high seven assists.
