NCAA Woman of the Year Update: Anna Curran Selected as Conference-Level Honoree

Indianapolis, IN----Recently announced, 2021 Brooklyn College NCAA Woman of the Year nominee, Anna Curran, has been selected as a conference-level honoree for the City University of New York Athletic Conference.  Out of 535 nominations across all three NCAA divisions, 152 have been selected as conference-level honorees.  Next, conference-level nominations will be forwarded to the NCAA Woman of the Year Selection Committee, which will choose the top 10 honorees in each of the three NCAA divisions. The NCAA will announce the Top 30 honorees on ncaa.org in September. 

Most recently named a City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the multi-sport student-athlete holds a 3.5 grade-point average as an Exercise Science major. Curran is a member of the Bulldogs' women's soccer, softball and swimming programs.
 
As a member of the women's soccer team, Curran racked up six goals and six assists for 18 points in 39 career appearances. Anna guided the Bulldogs to the CUNYAC Women's Soccer Championship Game in 2016 and semifinals in 2019.
 
On the softball field, Curran played 80 games in a Bulldogs uniform, pacing the squad in hits, doubles and assists in 2019.
 
Curran has been just as busy outside of competition during her time at Brooklyn College, serving as the institution's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) President. Anna has also excelled in photography, having one of her photos nominated for CUNY Photo of the Year. In addition, Anna has volunteered for a number of community service and campus projects and events from serving Thanksgiving dinner to the homeless to coaching in youth sports clinics.  
 
For her sportsmanship, dedication and leadership, Anna was voted 2020 Athlete of the Year at the Make a Difference Awards ceremony presented by the Brooklyn College Division of Student Affairs.
 
Anna has aspirations of becoming a Physical Therapist or Athletic Trainer following graduation.
