Brooklyn, NY----The Brooklyn College Department of Athletics closed out the 2025-26 academic year with their 30th Awards Banquet hosted in the Maroon and Gold Rooms of the BC Student Center on Friday.

Alex Lang (Associate Athletic Director) served as the master of ceremonies for the event that honored Brooklyn's student-athletes across 14 teams for the 2025-26 sports seasons. Fourth year BC Director of Athletics,
Erik Smiles, provided the introduction for the afternoon's program and congratulated the entire department on a successful year and more to come in 2026-27!
Four major student-athlete awards were handed out on the day with the Ed Madden Memorial Award, the Tracy Ohrman Memorial Award, the Joseph Andre Memorial Award, and for the first year, the Female and Male Athlete of the Year Award. The Ed Madden Memorial Award is given to one male and one female student-athlete that demonstrates courage and leadership while exemplifying the true spirit of sport. The Tracy Ohrman Award is given to a student-athlete that exemplifies personal strength and perseverance. For the second straight, an award was presented in the name of BC Men's Soccer Coach, Joseph R. Andre, who unfortunately passed away in 2020 to a student-athlete that displays outstanding dedication and sportsmanship in the sport of soccer. The Athlete of the Year Award is awarded to a female and male student-athlete that had the most standout seasons in their respective sports.
The Ed Madden Memorial Award was given out to Anna Kitch (Women's Basketball). Amra Mulic (Women's Volleyball) would take home the Tracy Ohrman Award. The Joseph Andre Memorial Award would go to Navruz Asatullaev (Men's Soccer), who has been a two-year standout for the Bulldogs. Brianna Jackson (Women's Basketball) and Michael Kravets (Men's Swim and Dive) earned the first ever Athlete of the Year Awards.
This year's Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Award would be presented to the committee's President, Sage Bernstein (Women's Soccer / Softball).
The various all-conference honorees from this past season were also recognized. In total, BC racked up 46 City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) All-Conference selections including CUNYAC Player of the Year, Niko Metreveli (Men's Soccer), CUNYAC Rookies of the Year, Andrew Gavrilov (Men's Soccer) and Giorgi Zhamutashvili (Men's Tennis), and Sportsmanship Award winners, Sage Bernstein (Women's Soccer) and Jenna Hood (Softball). In addition, BC Head Women's Basketball Coach, Megan Campbell, and Head Men's Soccer Coach, Nathan Bell, garnered Coach of the Year honors.
There were a total of 103 CUNYAC Scholar Athletes (GPA of 3.2 and above). Seniors Ruti Joshi (Women's Volleyball), Sage Bernstein (Women's Soccer / Softball), Nicholai Krylyuk (Men's Swim and Dive), and Aaron Siu (Men's Volleyball) were recognized as Michael Steuerman Scholar-Athletes.
Later in the day, each coaching staff presented their Most Outstanding Award, as well as their BC Bulldog Coaches' Award:

Brooklyn College SAAC closed out the awards luncheon with the announcement of the Bulldog Bowl Winner (team with the best attendance at events), which was Women's Swimming and Diving this year and a 'Highlight of the Year' presentation voted for on social media, which went to the softball team this year.
