Bulldogs Earn First Win in CUNYAC Opener on Urgiles Golden Goal

Bronx, NY---In a match with a lot of meaning for the program, the Brooklyn College men's soccer team earned its first win of the season in their CUNYAC opener at Lehman Wednesday night.  BC moves to 1-7 with the victory while Lehman drops to 2-3-1 (0-1 CUNYAC).  It is the first collegiate head coaching win for Luis Flores. The Bulldogs will look to keep the momentum going in conference play at home on Saturday as they host Hunter College at noon.

The Lightning would strike first tonight, just before halftime, on a Mohammad Jagne goal in 41'.

Despite being out-shot 14-9 for the match, the Bulldogs finished the match with a 6-5 edge in shots-on-goal.

Still trailing 1-0 deep into the second half, BC junior midfielder, Demyan Turiy, finished the equalizer in 81'.  The teams would play to a stalemate through the remainder of regulation.

Following a clutch save by BC senior keeper, Balint Barabas, in 94', senior back, Randy Urgiles scored the game-winner in 98'.

Barabas finished with four saves in all 98 minutes of play on the evening.
