Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Men's Basketball team got their first conference win of the season on Wednesday evening, pulling out an 85-83 overtime win over visiting CCNY.
The Bulldogs had an excellent chance to win in regulation, after a
Noah Shy bucket gave them a 76-74 lead with 33 seconds to play. On CCNY's next possession, the Beavers missed three shots that would've tied the game, and were forced to foul, but Brooklyn could not convert on the ensuing one and one, giving CCNY one more chance. City's Bayame Bah scored with just under 4 seconds to play, tying the game. Brooklyn's
Zuric Harvey got a good attempt off at the buzzer but was just off, forcing overtime.
Overtime saw four lead changes, but then
Kayin Olajide would hit the game's biggest shot, a three-pointer to give the Bulldogs an 84-80 advantage with 1:59 remaining. While CCNY would get within one, 84-83, Brooklyn would hold onto the advantage, and a
Noah Shy free throw would give Brooklyn the final 85-83 win.
Elisha Park led Brooklyn with 24 points, while
Noah Shy also had a big game with 20.Â
Kayin Olajide (17) and
Zuric Harvey (12) round out the double-figure scorers for BC.
