Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Women's Basketball Team had four players in double figures Friday night, earning their seventh consecutive victory, and completing an undefeated month of January (7-0), while knocking off visiting Baruch, 77-52.
The Bulldogs put the game away in the third quarter, after building a 17 point halftime advantage, Brooklyn was able to improve the lead to 58-32, on a
Destiny Drummond jumper with 1:06 remaining in the third. Brooklyn led by as many as 29 in the 4th quarter, to improve to 13-2, 7-0 CUNYAC.
Dasha Goodman came off the bench in the first half to score 11 in the period.Â
Gianna Gotti returned to the lineup after missing two games to score 15 points, dish out 7 assists and nab 6 steals.
Chanel Jemmott was all over the stat sheet, scoring 12 points, grabbing 15 boards, while also dishing out 4 assists, blocking 4 shots and notching 5 steals. Jemmott has grabbed two consecutive conference Player of the Week awards, and is on her way to
a career milestone, as she is 21 points away from breaking the all-time Brooklyn College career scoring mark of 1,485 points.
Nancy Pham added 14 points in only 18 minutes of action, knocking down a game-high four three-pointers.
Both of Brooklyn's Sarahs had big games as well, as
Sarah Labiner poured in 8 points and 9 rebounds, while
Sarah James dropped in 4 points and grabbed 10 boards.
Melinda Spahiu led Baruch with 22 points.
The Bulldogs will look to start the month of February as hot as they were in January, as they host John Jay on Tuesday, February 1st at 5 pm.
