Chanel Jemmott passed Sheila Zephir for first on the all-time Brooklyn College scoring list, doing it in fashion, as she scored and was fouled with 3:54 to play in the third quarter. Jemmott went on to finish the game with 26 points and 16 boards, as Brooklyn cruised past John Jay, 69-52. The Bulldogs improved to 14-2, 8-0 CUNYAC, on the season, while the Bloodhounds fall to 10-8, 5-3.
BC started the game on fire, scoring 13 straight points to start play, but John Jay answered with a 6-0 run of their own, forcing a BC timeout. Brooklyn was able to up the lead to 11 at the end of the quarter and 14 at the end of the half, in big part to Jemmott, who had 17 points heading into the locker room.
The Bulldogs started the second half as they began the first, going on a 7-0 run, and increasing the lead to 21. While the Bloodhounds were able to make small runs, the game remained out of reach for the rest of the contest.
Sarah Labiner had a nice night with 11 points and 8 boards, while shooting 5-6 from the field.
Ericka James led the Bulldogs with 6 assists, while adding 7 points.
Gianna Gotti poured in a good all-around night with 9 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals.
Bobbi Green led the visitors with 18 points.
