Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Women's Basketball Team knocked off Hunter on Wednesday evening, 72-55, improving to 16-3 on the season, and 10-0 in conference play, while clinching first place in the regular season CUNYAC standings. Prior to the game was Senior Night festivities, honoring seniors
Chanel Jemmott and
Sarah Labiner, in addition to 2021 senior Michell Pena.
Brooklyn struggled to score in the first half, as Hunter's defense held BC to only 35% shoting, and only 27 points at the break. Brooklyn was able to heat up in the second half, scoring 45 points, and building their lead to as many as 27 points in the fourth quarter.
Ericka James and
Gianna Gotti led the way for Brooklyn with 19 points a piece.
Gotti, who filled up that stat sheet, also had game-highs of 11 assists and 6 steals, and a team-high 6 rebounds.
Chanel Jemmott, who was in foul trouble throughout, finished with 13 points and 5 boards in 23 minutes.
Aleah Rafat (7 points) and
Destiny Drummond (6 points) gave nice minutes off the BC bench.
Hunter was led by Kristina Krslovic's 11 points.
The Bulldogs will look to remain undefeated in CUNYAC play on Friday as they travel to CCNY.
