Box Score Brooklyn, NY---Playing in their first home match since 2019, the Brooklyn College Men's Tennis team got their first win since before the pandemic, taking down visiting Purchase, 5-4. The win over the Panthers, improves the Bulldogs to 1-1 on the season.
"This was a nice non-conference win for our team," said Head Coach
David Wallis. "We showed some ability to win competitive matches, and battle back to force third sets in matches that we didn't win. We played some smart tennis to earn victories, especially at the bottom of our lineup."
Aymen Kuc was huge for the Bulldogs, notching a pair of victories on the evening. Kuc won in straight sets at #4 singles, 6-4, 6-2, while also partnering with
Denis Redzematovic for an 8-1 win at #3 doubles.
Dennis Lagoda won his #5 singles match 7-5, 6-3, while John Kondouroudas came up big at #6 singles, winning 6-2, 6-1.
Tre Laforce teamed with
Mujibur Shaad to take #2 doubles, 8-6.
The Bulldogs will have a chance to get some training in prior to their next match which will not take place until March 23rd, when BC travels to Sarah Lawrence.
