Junior outside hitter Mihail Osipov has been a welcome addition to the Brooklyn College Men’s Volleyball program this season. Playing in his first season at BC, Osipov has made an immediate impact on the team.

Playing in all 10 matches during the month of February, which saw the Bulldogs post an even 5-5 overall record, including a 3-2 mark in City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) play, Osipov racked up 97 kills, while posting a .240 hitting percentage. He also tallied 76 digs, 13 aces and eight total blocks.

He had six games of double-digit kills, while registering three double-doubles. Against Wells College on February 1st, he finished with 13 kills and 15 digs to lead Brooklyn to a 3-1 win. Later on February 12th in a 3-2 win against conference rival Lehman, he recorded 15 kills and 11 digs and the very next day on February 13th he posted 10 kills and 13 digs in a 3-1 loss.

Osipov totaled a month-best 16 kills in a 3-1 loss against conference powerhouse Hunter College on February 27th.

For his play, Osipov was named the CUNYAC Rookie of the Week twice during the month of February.

Playing in 35 sets during the month, Osipov averaged 2.77 kills/set and 2.17 digs/set to be named the Brooklyn College Male Student-Athlete of the Month, for the month of February.
