Jasmine Fermin named September Brooklyn College female student-athlete of the month

Senior defender Jasmine Fermine continues to add to her accolades as she has earned the Brooklyn College Bulldogs September Student-Athlete of the Month Award. 

The Brooklyn College Women’s soccer team was 2-5-1 for the month, and 1-0-1 in conference play, as the team started the season with a very tough non-conference schedule. Fermin has been a defensive stopper for the team for the past couple of years, and a main reason why the team won back to back CUNYAC championships (2013/2014).

In 2013 Jazmin started in all 17 games played, while scoring one goal. She anchored a solid defense that totaled 11 shutouts. Fermin was named a CUNYAC First Team All-Star and an ECAC Division III Metro Second Team All-Star. In 2014 she was just as dominant starting in 20 matches, was named to CUNYAC Women's Soccer All Star First Team and an ECAC Division III Metro First Team All-Star.

Jasmine is without a doubt a game changer, certainly from a defensive standpoint, but as it turns out she is versatile enough to be considered the biggest offensive threat on the 2015 squad.

After making the move to the forward position, she scored two goals and notched an assist in a 6-0 win over CCNY. 

In the games she played this month as a defender, she was her usual self and all over the field stopping opponents' breakaways.
