After winning three of their first four games of the young season, the Brooklyn College Women’s Basketball team is off to their best start since the 2004-05 campaign.  One of the main reasons for that surge has been junior forward Priscilla Ramirez (Franklin D. Roosevelt / Brooklyn, NY).  Ramirez set the tone early, with a dominating performance in the Bridges’ season-opening win over Vassar College.  The 5-9 Ramirez, who graduated FDR as the school’s all-time leading scorer, poured in a game-high 34 points and collected 10 rebounds.  She also recorded a double-double in the Bridges’ loss at Ramapo College in the Championship Game of the 2008 Roadrunner Tip-Off Tournament, netting 23 points and collecting 10 caroms. Head Coach Alex Lang marvels at Ramirez’s early season triumphs, noting that “Priscilla is an excellent all around player who has the ability to score from anywhere on the court. She has also been a pleasure to coach as she is a consummate team player.” Ramirez, who played her first two collegiate seasons at Genesee Community College, is a Physical Education major.
