Maksim Kravtsov Named BC Male Student-Athlete of the Month
Maksim Kravtsov, a second year member of the Brooklyn College Men’s Swimming & Diving team, is off to yet another strong season in the pool for the Bulldogs.
Beginning with BC’s first meet of the month on December 2nd, an eventual 101-67 victory over City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) rival York College, Kravtsov played a vital role in the win helping Brooklyn take first place in the 200-Yard Medley Relay (2:10.68) along with teammates James Marty, Brian Clarke and Vadim Reynus. Maksim would also claim a first place finish in the 100-Yard Butterfly with a time of 1:10.67.
Despite a 118-78 loss against conference foe the College of Staten Island on December 7th, Kravtsov helped lead the Bulldogs to a first place finish in the 200-Yard Freestyle Relay, as Kravtsov, Patrick O’Leary-Gullo, Roman Vilnyanskiy and Ka Ho Yeung posted the top time of 1:54.09.
In the final meet of the month, a 135-61 loss against SUNY Maritime on December 9th, Kravtsov recorded a second place finish in the 100-Yard Freestyle with a time of 57.72. He was also a member of the 200-Yard Freestyle Relay team of Anthony Sideris, O’Leary-Gullo and Reynys that recorded a first place finish with a time of 1:52.03.
For his efforts, Maksim Kravtov has been named the Brooklyn College Male Student-Athlete of the Month, for the month of December 2011.
