Junior center fielder Kim Konklewski, a transfer from Suffolk County Community College, has made an immediate impact to the Brooklyn College Softball team in her first season on the squad.

Konklewski has been a mainstay at the leadoff spot all season long and has been vital to the team’s success this season, which saw the Bulldogs lock up the #4 seed in the upcoming City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) Softball Championships.

During the month of April, the Deer Park, NY native started in all 20 games, batting .452 (28-for-62) with 18 runs scored, eight RBI, three doubles and four triples. She also drew five walks and went 7-for-8 in stolen base attempts. Konklewski posted a .500 on-base percentage and a .629 slugging percentage.

In April, Konklewski had an eight-game hitting streak, as well as a five-game hitting streak, as she hit safely in 16 of BC’s 20 games. Konklewski also had 10 games with at least two-hits, to go along with a pair of three-hit games.

Konklewski’s three-hit performances came in the second game of a doubleheader against Albertus Magnus College (April 11th) and the first game of a doubleheader against conference rival College of Staten Island (April 14th). Konklewksi went 3-for-4 in both games.

Along with swinging a hot bat, Konklewski was also solid with the glove, committing just two errors in centerfield during the month.

For her efforts, Kim Konklewski has been named the Brooklyn College Female Student-Athlete of the Month, for the month of April.
