Brooklyn, NY --- After nearly a three-week layoff, the Brooklyn College Women's Basketball team returns to the court on Friday, December 30th, as the Bulldogs will hit the road to take on the Violets of New York University. The game is scheduled for a 6:00 pm tip off at the Coles Sports Center.

Currently riding a two-game losing streak, BC (6-3) will look to get back into the win column and close out the 2011 portion of its 2011-2012 season with a victory. NYU (5-2) will pose a tough challenge, however, as the Violets are undefeated so far this season on their home court at 3-0.
The Bulldogs are led by senior
Lauren Plagainos who is averaging a team-best 10.4 points per game, while shooting 31.3% (20-for-64) from beyond the arc. Classmate
Justine O'Callahan is chipping in with 9.9 points and 7.3 rebounds per game, while freshman
Nicole Francomano is leading the team with 4.8 assists and 2.6 steals per game, to go along with 9.7 points per game. Junior
Tiffany Thompson is averaging team-highs in both rebounds (8.9) and blocks (1.3), to go with her 9.3 points per game.
The Violets are led by Cara Bonito, who is averaging a team-leading 10.9 points per game and team-high 3.4 assists per game. Shelby Coon is the team's leading rebounder at 11.7 rebounds per game, to go with 7.9 points per game. Tana Bertino and Bianca Storts are both contributing to the offensive production, as each are averaging 9.4 points.
