Men’s Volleyball Falls to Bard in Straight Sets

Annandale-on-Hudson, NY --- The Brooklyn College Men's Volleyball team dropped a non-conference match on the road earlier today to the Raptors of Bard College in straight sets, 3-0, by scores of 25-12, 25-16 and 25-18 at Stevenson Gymnasium. With the loss, the Bulldogs fall to 2-4 overall on the season, while the Raptors improve to an even 6-6 overall on the year.

Freshman Alexander Shlivko once again led the BC offense totaling 13 kills on the afternoon. Sophomore Guillermo Melosevich tallied 24 assists on the day, while freshman Timothy Hui provided solid defense with 11 digs.

For the Raptors, Max Howard led Bard with 10 kills while posting a .389 hitting percentage (10 kills/3 errors/18 total attacks). Howard also added 9 digs in the match. As a team, the host Raptors hit a solid .310 (32 kills/10 errors/71 total attacks). Henry Kasiske paced the Bard offense with 28 digs, while Andrew Cortrite chipped in with 9 digs as well.

Brooklyn returns to action on Thursday, February 17th, as the Bulldogs will play host to the Hawks of Hunter College in a City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) match. Start time is scheduled for 6:00 pm at the West Quad Center Gymnasium.
