Men's Volleyball Falls To Hunter In Three, 25-22, 25-21, 25-17

Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Men's Volleyball Team (2-5, 2-3 CUNYAC) fell to visiting Hunter College (9-9, 5-1 CUNYAC) on Thursday evening, 25-22, 25-21, 25-17, at the West Quad Center. 

Brooklyn started the first set with an early 2-0 lead, however tying the score at four, six and seven, Hunter wnet on a 5-0 run to take a commanding 12-7 advantage.  The Bulldogs would cut the deficit to two, 18-16, after a Duong Tha kill, but would get no closer than two for the remainder of the set.

The second set saw the Bulldogs jump out to a fast start once more, as a Mohamed Taman kill gave BC a 7-5 lead.  Hunter would go on an 8-2 run to take a 13-9 advantage and Brooklyn would never cut the deficit to under three for the remainder, falling once more.

Once more Brooklyn was able to take an early lead in the third set, holding a 7-6 advantage early in the period.  Hunter quickly turned that around as a Marcin Polak kill gave them an 18-12 lead that would not be relinquished, giving Hunter the three-set victory.

The Hawks were led by senior opposite hitter Polak, who notched a team-high 12 kills and nine digs on the evening.  Hunter setter Jonathan Park dished out a match-high 28 assists.

The Bulldogs Alexander Shlivko was outstanding, putting away 12 kills, a team-high, while chipping in with six digs and two aces.

Thai also had a good night hitting, finishing with 10 kills for BC.
