New York, NY --- The Brooklyn College Men's Volleyball team earned a split in the second City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) multi-match of the season earlier today, hosted by Hunter College. The Bulldogs are now 3-6 overall on the year and 3-4 in conference play.
Brooklyn fell to the City College of New York in straight sets, 3-0, (27-25, 25-18, 27-25) in the opening match and defeated the New York City College of Technology, 3-1, (25-19, 21-25, 26-19, 25-21) in the second and final match of the day. BC has now swept the season series against City Tech, as the Bulldogs defeated the Yellow Jackets in their season opener, 3-0, (25-14, 25-15, 25-21) back on February 1st.
Junior
Duong Thai led the Bulldogs in the opening game against CCNY, posting a team-high 13 kills. Freshman
Alexander Shlivko continued his strong play on the season, chipping in with nine kills. Sophomore
Guillermo Melosevich paced the offense dishing out 24 assists, while freshman
Timothy Hui contributed with 17 digs.
In the closing match against City Tech, Shlivko recorded a team-leading 14 kills, while junior
Mohamed Taman tagged on 10 kills. Hui added 10 digs for the match, while Melosevich and senior
Gene Tom each dished out 22 assists.
Brooklyn will be in action this Monday, February 21st, as the Bulldogs will be on the road to take on NYU-Poly. Game is slated to begin at 7:00 pm.
