Brooklyn, NY --- The Brooklyn College Men's Volleyball team picked up a key City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) victory tonight at the West Quad Center, as the Bulldogs got the better of the Beavers of the City College of New York (CCNY) earlier tonight by a score of 3-1 (17-25, 25-10, 25-16, 25-23).
With the win, BC improves to 8-12 overall on the season and 4-8 in the CUNYAC to take sole possession of fifth place; while the CCNY falls to 5-20 overall on the year and 3-9 in the conference.

The Beavers would look to spoil Brooklyn's senior night, as the visitors took the first set 25-17. In the set, the Bulldogs committed 14 attack errors to aid CCNY in their win. With the Beavers holding a slim 13-12 lead, CCNY rattled off nine straight points to take control of the set, 22-12, en route to its 25-17 win.
The second set featured a much different BC team, as the Bulldogs hit a stellar .524 (12 kills/1 error/21 total attacks) in the set. Brooklyn would score the first five points in the set on the strength of Tom's serving. The Beavers would chip away at their deficit to 8-5, but BC would go on a 4-0 run to go up 12-5. The Bulldogs would not be challenged through the rest of the set, as the home team would eventually go on to take the 25-10 win.
The second set featured much of the same, as Brooklyn hit .519 (16 kills/2 errors/27 total attacks) in the set. The Bulldogs would open up the set on a 6-1 run, as BC would use its strong hitting performance to go on to the 25-16 win.
The fourth and final set featured a tight battle. CCNY held an early lead 6-5 and would extend it to 14-7. The Bulldogs would not go down lightly; however, as Brooklyn used a 7-1 run to get back into the match and cut its deficit to one, 15-14. From there on out, the teams would exchange points as the final outcome would come down to the wire. After the Beavers later took a 23-20 advantage, Brooklyn would close out the set on a 5-0 run to take the 25-23 set and match win.
Playing in front of the home crowd for their final games, Thai and Halton each recorded match-highs of 11 kills to help lead the Bulldogs to victory. Halton hit an outstanding .588 in the match. Sophomore
Alexander Shlivko also finished with double digits in kills with 10. Tom helped pace the offense with a match-best 42 assists, to go along with four service aces. Sophomore
Timothy Hui was solid defensively with a match-high 26 digs.
CCNY's Brandon Reeves racked up a match-best 11 kills, while Anthony Reyes dished out 23 assists. Nick Siriban finished with 11 digs.
Brooklyn returns to action on Monday, April 2nd, as the Bulldogs will travel to New York, NY to complete the season home-and-home series against the Beavers. The match is scheduled for a 7:00 pm start time at Nat Holman Gymnasium.
