New York, NY --- The Brooklyn College Men's Volleyball team lost both of its games today during the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) Multi-Match held on the campus of the City College of New York (CCNY). The Bulldogs fall to 4-10 overall on the season and 1-6 in CUNYAC play.
BC fell in their first match of the day against Hunter College in straight sets, 3-0 (25-11, 25-11, 25-15), and later lost a hard fought battle against York College, 3-1 (25-19, 25-19, 24-26, 25-22).
Sophomore
Timothy Hui had a solid game defensively for BC, recording 10 digs against Hunter. Senior

David Rafailov and sophomore
Alexander Shlivko all had four kills in the match, while senior
Gene Tom handed out 12 assists.
Chris Newcomb finished with a game-high 10 kills in the match for Hunter, while Stanley Martinez dished out 26 assists. The Hawks hit a solid .479 (43 kills/nine errors/71 total attacks) for the match.
Coming against York, freshman
David Dimitruk finished with nine kills, 11 digs and two block assists, while Thai registered 15 kills (.333) and three total blocks. Tom dished out a team-high 27 assists, while Hui had 21 digs against York. Shlivko chipped in with seven kills.
The Cardinals were led by Bryan Williams' game-hgh 23 kills (.759), while Edner Geffard chipped in with 15 kills (.550). Glenn Vargas added a game-high 28 assists, while Terrance Sutton contributed with eight digs and seven kills.
“Our guys played some of their best volleyball against York,” said head coach
Michael Salak. “We finally played with the intensity we needed. We still came up short, but I was proud of the way we played.”
Brooklyn is back in action on Tuesday, March 6th, as the Bulldogs will play host to John Jay College in a CUNYAC matchup. Start time for the match is slated for 6:00 pm at the West Quad Center.
