Box Score Brooklyn, NY --- The Brooklyn College Women's Soccer team continued its strong play this season, as the Bulldogs recorded their tenth shutout of the season, with a 2-0 victory against the Bloodhounds of John Jay College of Criminal Justice on Saturday afternoon at BC Field in a City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) matchup.
With the win, BC improves to 11-1 overall on the year and 4-1 in the CUNYAC, while John Jay drops to 3-12 overall on the season and 2-3 in conference play.
Brooklyn set the tempo from the opening whistle, as the Bulldogs' defense kept the ball in BC's offensive zone throughout the game.
The Bulldogs offensive tested John Jay's keeper early and often, as junior
Bergelie Louis put the home team up on the board in the 17th minute, taking advantage of a rebound opportunity from a shot off the post.
John Jay's keeper Andrea Antoni would keep Brooklyn off the board throughout the rest of the half registering nine saves in the period, to keep the game 1-0, as the teams headed into the halftime break.
The game would remain 1-0 until the 62nd minute, when freshman
Jordan Kerwin notched her team-leading 16th goal of the year, taking a pass from sophomore
Shani Nakhid-Schuster in the box, putting BC ahead, 2-0.

Michelle Cranston, made her first collegiate start in goal playing all 90 minutes, to earn her first career shutout victory,
Antoni also played all 90 minutes, while recording 14 saves.
Brooklyn will be back in action next Saturday, October 26th, as the Bulldogs will welcome the Dolphins of the College of Staten Island in a non-conference matchup. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 pm start time at BC Field.
