Box Score Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Women's Basketball Team won their third straight contest on Friday as they defeated conference foe Medgar Evers 79-33, improving to 6-3, 2-1 CUNYAC, on the season. Medgar Falls 2-7, 0-4 CUNYAC with the loss.
Medgar was able to hang around early due to their three point shooting, as at the 10 minute mark, the Bulldogs held a slim 16-11 advantage, and the Cougars had knocked down three shots from downtown. Over the next tn minutes, the game would quickly change as the Bulldogs used a 31-6 run to take a 47-17 lead into the break.
At intermission, BC's
Megan Campbell would lead all scorers with 13 points, while Imani Mason topped the Cougars with seven. Brooklyn's
T'Keyah Francis paced both teams with eight boards at the half, while junior point guard Nicole Franomano had an outstanding six assists.
Brooklyn started the second half on a 5-0 run, as Campbell hit a jumper and
Asia Foster scored a basket and notched one of two from the line on a subsequent drive.
While Medgar continued to show fight, the lead would be insurmountable and Brooklyn would win their third contest in four days.
The Bulldogs'
Nacirema Mann would lead all scorers on the night with 18 points, while also chipping in eight boards and four assists. Campbell would finish with her fourth straight double-double, scoring 15 points and nabbing 11 boards, while also adding three blocks.
Francomano finished with nine points, seven assists and three steals, while Francis had a game-high 16 boards including 11 offensive.
Foster added six points and seven boards, to go along with two blocks, while
Sarah Shanderson dished out four assists in 13 minutes of action.
All 13 Bulldogs who saw action got into the scoring column, while racking up 20 assists as a team and outrebounding their opponent 66-40.
"Tonight's effort was a full team effort," said Head Coach
Alex Lang. "We got contributions from our entire roster, which was nice to see."
The Cougars were led by Francis' 15 points, while sophomore Nia Tompkins added 12 points in defeat.
Next game for Brooklyn College won't take place until after the New Year when the Women will travel to the Bronx on January 3rd to take on conference opponent Lehman College.
