Box Score New York, NY --- The #2 seeded Brooklyn College Bulldogs fell to top seeded Baruch College, 73-62, in the championship final of the 2013 City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC)/Con Edison Women's Basketball Championships on Saturday afternoon at Nat Holman Gymnasium on the campus of the City College of New York (CCNY).

With its win, Baruch (26-2) earns the CUNYAC's automatic bid into the 2013 NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament. The win also clinches the Bearcats sixth straight CUNYAC championship and seventh over the past eight seasons.

The loss snaps Brooklyn's 13-game winning streak.

The game featured a tight back and forth battle in the opening four minutes of the contest, with three ties and three lead changes.

Following a jumper from Brooklyn's Vanessa D'Ambrosi that put the Bulldogs up 6-4 at the 16:44 mark of the first half, Baruch went on an 18-4 run over the next seven minutes to build a double digit advantage, 22-10, with 9:51 remaining before the halftime break.

Brooklyn would cut its deficit back to single digits, 26-17, on a layup from Tiffany Thompson with 5:47 left in the half; however, the Bearcats would outscore the Bulldogs 15-5 to close out the period and take a 19-point, 41-22, halftime advantage.

Brooklyn's offense struggled to get going in the first half, as the Bulldogs were held to just 29.0% (9-31) shooting from the field, including going 0-for-8 from beyond the arc.

The second half saw Brooklyn shoot much better, as the Bulldogs outscored the Bearcats, 40-32, in the second period; however, it would not be enough to recover from its halftime deficit, as Baruch would go on to its 73-62 victory to continue its recent dynasty.

Baruch's Francess Henry led all scorers with a game-high 27 points on 10-for-16 shooting from the field, including going 3-for-5 from three and 4-for-4 from the free throw line, en route to earning Tournament MVP honors. Iyana Abrams chipped in with 13 points and four assists coming off the bench, while Sheridan Taylor grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds. Jessica Duleba added nine points and six rebounds, as she was named to the All-Tournament team.

Nicole Francomano scored a season-high 18 points for Brooklyn, while Thompson (16 points, 16 rebounds) and D'Ambrosi (15 points, 10 rebounds) both finished the game with a double-double. Thompson and D'Ambrosi would also go on to earn All-Tournament honors. Brittany Bowen contributed with nine points and six assists.

For the game, Brooklyn shot 33.8% (23-68) from the field and 12.5% (2-16) from three. The Bulldogs also shot 56.0% (14-25) from the free throw line.
