Box Score Brooklyn, NY --- The Brooklyn College Men's Volleyball team dropped a City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) match on Tuesday evening against the Hawks of Hunter College, 3-1 (24-26, 25-22, 25-14, 25-14) at the West Quad Center.
With the loss, the Bulldogs fall to 3-6 overall on the season and 1-1 in the CUNYAC, while the Hawks improve to 2-7 overall and 2-1 in conference play.

David Dimitruk registered a match-high 16 kills, while
Timothy Hui recorded a double-double with 11 kills and a team-high 20 assists. Hui also added six digs.
Lucas Moline chipped in with seven kills, while
Christopher Valverde contributed with 17 assists.
Vsevolod Tsyupa finished with a team-high seven digs.
Matthew Ng led Hunter with a team-high 15 kills, while Braien Otsla finished with a double-double with 13 kills and 10 digs. Nino Hot added 10 kills. Stanley Martinez dished out a match-high 48 assists. As a team, the Hawks hit a solid .382 (56 kills-17 errors-102 total attacks). Hunter was also solid up front with 13 total blocks, led by Alexandru Barbulescu's seven block assists.
The first set featured seven ties and two lead changes as the Bulldogs would edge out a hard fought 26-24 win to go ahead 1-0. Both teams posted solid hitting percentages in the set, as Brooklyn hit .333 (16 kills-4 errors-36 total attacks), while Hunter hit .378 (18 kills-4 errors-37 total attacks).
The second set featured another back-and-forth affair, with 10 ties and four lead changes. In the end, the Hawks would take 25-22 win to tie the game at one set apiece.
Visiting Hunter would use the momentum from their second set victory to take wins in both the third and fourth sets, 25-14 each, to take the 3-1 match victory.
“We still have a lot of room to improve, but our guys showed that their potential is great,” said head coach
Michael Salak. “They challenged Hunter, a team that last year advanced to the NCAA Division III Final Four.”
Brooklyn will be back in action on Thursday, February 28th, as the Bulldogs will take on a pair of CUNYAC foes in York College and John Jay College of Criminal Justice. The games are a make-up from February 9th, when the matches were postponed due to Winter Storm Nemo. The game times are 6:30 pm (York) and 8:30 pm (John Jay) and will be played at the APEX on the campus of Lehman College.
