Men’s Volleyball Concludes 2013 Regular Season With Win Over Medgar Evers

Box Score Brooklyn, NY --- The Brooklyn College Men's Volleyball team made the short trip up Bedford Avenue to take on borough and City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) rival Medgar Evers College on Thursday night in the regular season finale for BC. The Bulldogs defeated the Cougars 3-0 to improve to 12-11 overall on the season and 8-6 in the CUNYAC.

The 2013 season marks the best season for the BC Men's Volleyball team since 2007, when Brooklyn posted a 16-8 overall record and a 10-4 mark in CUNYAC play.

The Bulldogs began the match with a 2-0 advantage, as Medgar Evers was forced to forfeit the first two sets due to canceling the original match date of March 30th, as part of the CUNYAC Multi-Match day.

BC would need just one set to finish off the Cougars, as Brooklyn took the third set by a score of 25-10.

Freshman Dukhyun Ko and senior Mateusz Gotowicki combined for five of Brooklyn's nine kills in the match. Junior Timothy Hui and freshman Hoyin Ki paced the offense with four assists each, while senior Vsevolod Tsyupa chipped in with four digs. Freshman Michael Boodram was solid in the middle with two block assists.

With the regular season now over, Brooklyn will turn its attention to the CUNYAC Championships, as the #4 seeded Bulldogs will square off against the #5 seeded Beavers of the City College of New York (CCNY) in the quarterfinals round this Tuesday, April 9th. The match is scheduled for a 7:00 pm start time at the West Quad Center.
