Box Score 2 Brooklyn, NY --- The Brooklyn College Men's Volleyball team picked up a pair of wins on Saturday, defeating borough foe St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) in straight sets 3-0 (25-3, 25-17, 25-16) and Bard College also in straight sets 3-0 (25-16, 25-12, 25-22).
With their wins, the Bulldogs improve to 11-10 overall on the season.
Brooklyn cruised past St. Joseph's (BK) in the opener, utilizing a strong hitting performance, hitting .310 (31 kills – 13 errors – 58 attacks). Sophomore
Antony Koyfman led the way with eight kills (.533), to go along with four total blocks. Senior
Timothy Hui paced the offense with 21 assists, while also adding six kills (.857) and four aces.
In the second game of the day against Bard, the Bulldogs again racked up over 30 kills, totaling 33 (.228). Junior
Vaughn Ford led the way with nine kills (.500). Classmate
David Dimitruk added eight kills and seven digs, while Koyfman finished with six kills. Junior
Mihail Osipov chipped in with seven kills and seven digs. Hui registered a double-double with 27 assists and 11 digs and sophomore
Ricky Myint contributed to the defense with nine digs.
Brooklyn returns to action this Tuesday, March 18th, as the Bulldogs will travel to John Jay College of Criminal Justice to take on the Bloodhounds in a City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) matchup. The game is scheduled for a 6:00 pm start time.
The Bulldogs will look to take the season series from the Bloodhounds, as BC defeated John Jay, 3-0 (25-17, 25-12, 25-12), back on February 8th on a neutral court at Lehman College.
