Box Score New York, NY --- The Brooklyn College Men's Volleyball team swept the Bloodhounds of John Jay College of Criminal Justice in straight sets on Tuesday evening at the Doghouse, 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-19), in City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) action.
With the win, BC improves to 12-10 overall on the season and 6-4 in CUNYAC. The victory also gives the Bulldogs the season series sweep over the Bloodhounds, as Brooklyn defeated John Jay, 3-0 (25-17, 25-12, 25-12), back on February 8th on a neutral court at Lehman College.
John Jay drops to 3-12 overall on the year and 1-9 in conference play.
Leading the way for Brooklyn was the trio of juniors
David Dimitruk and
Mihail Osipov and sophomore
Antony Koyfman, as all three finished with seven kills each. Koyfman also racked up seven total blocks (four solo). Junior
Lucas Moline added six kills, while hitting an impressive .750. As a team, BC hit .290 (33 kills / 13 errors / 69 total attacks).
Senior
Timothy Hui paced the offense with 26 assists.
For the Bloodhounds, Yevgeniy Remennik and Jack Palleschi each registered six kills on the night. Nicholas Anderson chipped in with 15 assists.
"We had a slow start, but we found our rhythm," said head coach
Michael Salak. "It was a good game to try a few new things. Some worked and some still need work."
Brooklyn will be back in action this Thursday, March 20th, as the Bulldogs will travel up to the ARC Arena to take on the Baruch College Bearcats in another CUNYAC tilt. The match is scheduled for a 6:00 pm start time.

The Bearcats are currently undefeated in conference play and rank 11th in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III Men's Coaches Top 15 Poll. The Bulldogs will be in search of the upset and avenge a five-set loss to Baruch, (25-21, 25-22, 21-25, 20-25, 15-7), back on March 8th on a neutral court at John Jay.
