Men's Volleyball Sweeps CCNY On Senior Night, 25-22, 25-21, 26-24

Box Score Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Men's Volleyball Team improved to 15-12 and 8-6 in conference play on Tuesday evening as they took all three sets against visiting CCNY, to earn a 25-22, 25-21, 26-24 win on Senior Night.  With the loss, the Beavers fall to 9-19, 5-9 CUNYAC.

Prior to the match, there was a short ceremony honoring seniors Timothy Hui and Lucas Moline. The two were greeted with some words from Head Coach Michael Salak as well as some gifts and well wishes from coaches, teammates, fans and BC Athletics.

Hui has been a dynamic athlete for the Bulldogs who has been named All-Conference and has played multiple positions.  Moline, a team captain, has shown exemplary leadership while also being a versatile player over his years as a BC Bulldog.

Tonight's match marked the third time Brooklyn took on CCNY this season, as they two face each other in their regularly scheduled conference matches, but also played at Ramapo's Tournament early in the season. The Bulldogs have now taken all three matches in straight sets, but are not done seeing the Beavers this year, as they will host City once again a week from tonight in the quarterfinal round of the upcoming CUNYAC Championships.

As for tonight's match, while Brooklyn won in three sets, the victory was certainly no walk in the park as CCNY remained close in each, and in fact controlled much of the third set, leading 24-22, before BC rallied with four straight points to seal the win.

The seniors both made some big plays for Brooklyn.  Hui dished out a match-high 32 assists, while also contributing with two kills, while Moline added four kills.  Each added two aces as well.

David Dimitruk and Mihail Osipov each had team-highs of nine kills on the evening as well.

The Bulldogs will have one final tuneup this weekend before the CUNYAC Championships start on Tuesday, as they will head up to Vassar College on Saturday to take on both the host Brewers (11:00 am), in addition to Rutgers Newark (1:00 pm). Live stats and video will be available.
