Box Score Brooklyn, NY --- For the third straight season, the Brooklyn College Men's Volleyball team has advanced to the semifinals round of the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) Championships, as the #4 seeded Bulldogs held off the #5 seeded Beavers of the City College of New York in a five-set thriller, 3-2 (25-14, 19-25, 25-16, 18-25, 15-9), in the quarterfinals round on Tuesday night at the West Quad Center.
With the win, BC moves to 16-14 overall on the season and will take on top seeded Baruch College in the semifinals round on Friday, April 11th. The game is scheduled for a 6:00 pm start time at Baruch's ARC Arena. Baruch defeated #8 Medgar Evers College in straight sets, 3-0 (25-14, 25-5, 25-11), to advance to the semifinals.

Leading the Bulldogs to victory was junior
Mihail Osipov, who racked up a match-high 17 kills, to go along with six service aces and seven digs. Sophomore
Antony Koyfman added 13 kills and five total bocks (two solo), while junior
Vaughn Ford chipped in with 11 kills. Senior
Timothy Hui recorded a double-double with 49 assists and 10 digs, while sophomore
Ricky Myint also finished the match with 10 digs. Junior
David Dimitruk had a solid game with eight kills and nine digs.
For CCNY, Nicholas Siriban totaled a team-best 12 kills, to go with seven digs. Brian Yik Lim finished with eight kills and eight digs, while Brandon Reeves also added eight kills. Derell Willaims chipped in with seven kills. Anthony Reyes dished out 38 assists, while Oleksandr Boychuk contributed with 12 digs.
The first set saw the Bulldogs jump out to an early 8-3 lead. BC would never trail in the set, as Brooklyn hit a solid .375 (12 kills / 3 errors / 24 total attacks) en route to its 25-14 win.
The second set featured a back-and-forth affair, as the teams combined for nine ties and two lead changes. After BC tied the game at 10-10, the Beavers rattled off a 7-3 run to take a commanding 17-13 lead. CCNY would go on to take a 25-19 win to tie the match at 1-1. The visitors posted an impressive .435 (13 kills / 3 errors / 23 total attacks) hitting percentage in the set.
Brooklyn would bounce back in the third set, as the Bulldogs once again used a strong hitting performance by hitting .478 (14 kills / 3 errors / 23 total attacks) to take a 25-16 win to go up 2-1.
The Beavers would not go down lightly; however, as the visitors took the fourth set, 25-18, to force a fifth and decisive set. The fourth set saw another tight battle early on with six ties and two lead changes. With the set tied at 7 all, the Beavers used a 9-3 run to take a controlling 16-10 lead.
The fifth and final set was similar to the fourth, as the teams combined for five ties and two lead changes. With Brooklyn trailing 5-4, the Bulldogs used a 7-1 run to seize control of the set and match, 11-6. BC would go on to take the 15-9 win to avoid the upset and advance to their third straight semifinals appearance.
"CCNY let it all out on the court tonight," said head coach
Michael Salak. "I have to give credit to them. They made some solid adjustments; however, our guys rose to the challenge. Koyfman really stepped up and established some dominance at the net and Osipov really had a great match for us. It took everyone to make a play tonight."
