Women's Soccer Tops Maritime, 1-0, in Regular Season Finale

Box Score Throggs Neck, NY --- The Brooklyn College Women's Soccer Team closed out their regular 2015 season on Friday in a non-conference matchup against the Privateers of Maritime College, with a 2-1 victory. The Bulldogs finish their season with an overall 5-10-2 record, and the Privateers complete their season with a 6-12 record.

The game was at a standstill, tied at 0-0 going into the second half. Bulldogs Jordan Kerwin and Shani Nakhid-Shuster worked off one another early into the second half, for the duo each recorded a goal and an assist, taking the lead and control of the game. This was Kerwin's fifth goal of the season, while Nakhid-Shuster recorded her fourth.

The Bulldogs dominated possession for majority of the game, outshooting the Privateers, 11-3. The defense was dominant, making keeper Rebecca Harmata's job in net easier, only challenged three times. However, Maritime rookie, Courtney Salatto was able to put one away for the Privateers with seconds left in the match,

Brooklyn, the #3 seed in the upcoming CUNYAC Championships, will compete in a tough post season semifinal matchup against the number two seed, Staten Island this Wednesday, November 4. The regular season matchup resulted in a tie, 0-0, so both teams will look to battle it out and compete for a spot in the championship match on November 7.
