Box Score WEST QUAD CENTER Brooklyn, NY----The Brooklyn College women's basketball team saw their three-game win-streak come to a hault this afternoon, dropping a non-conference home loss to No. 4 New York University. BC falls to 7-4 overall with the loss. NYU remains undefeated on the season, improving to 8-0. The Bulldogs will be back in action at home on Sunday, Jan. 3, in CUNYAC play against College of Staten Island for sole possession of first-place in the CUNYAC. The game will be the first part of a doubleheader with the women tipping off at 12:30 PM, followed by the men's game at 2:45 PM.
Only trailing by four points after the first period, the Bulldogs seemed to be in pretty good shape heading into the second period. However, the Bobcats would start the second period with an 8-0 run including back-to-back three-point makes that extended the NYU lead to twelve in the first minute and a half. A Taylor Gallgher three-point make stopped the bleeding. She would then help the Bulldogs cut the lead back down to seven on a lay-in with eight minutes to go in the first half. NYU responded with a 10-2 run that gave them a 27-12 advantage with 2:19 to go in the first half. The Bulldogs trailed the Bobcats 30-14 heading into halftime.
Plagued by turnovers all afternoon long, Brooklyn gave the ball back to NYU 40 times to the Bobcats' 16 turnovers. Unable to consistently break the Bobcats' full-court press in the third period, the Bulldogs would find themselves in a 30-point hole that they weren't able to dig themselves out of.
