Box Score 2 New York, NY --- In the second City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) Men's Volleyball multi-match of the season on Monday, hosted by Hunter College, Brooklyn College dropped both of its matches in straight sets against John Jay College and College of Staten Island.
In the first match of the day against the Bloodhounds, Brooklyn was led by
Shawn Varghese's team-high five kills. Varghese also added five total blocks.
John Jay was led by Yevgeniy Remennik's match-high 15 kills, while Jack Palleschi registered a double-double with 13 kills and 18 assists. Remennik and Palleschi also combined for 12 aces.
In the second and final match of the day against the Dolphins, Varghese and
Ian Miranda each totaled three kills apiece, while
Kevin Bautista dished out 10 assists.
As a team, Staten Island hit .362 and totaled 30 kills on the day, led by seven from Danil Kubovitskiy. Philip Szumanski racked up 23 assists.
Brooklyn continues with CUNYAC action on Thursday, February 19th, as the Bulldogs will host Lehman College. The match is scheduled for a 6:00 pm start time at the West Quad Center. The first 200 fans in attendance will receive a free t-shirt.
