Box Score 1 Langhorne, PA --- The Brooklyn College Men's Volleyball team traveled down to Langhorne, PA on Saturday afternoon for a tri-match hosted by Cairn University. The Bulldogs began the day against #3 nationally ranked New Paltz, falling in straight sets, and ended the day against host Cairn falling in straight sets.
Against New Paltz,
Shawn Varghese led the way for BC, posting three service aces, to go with four digs, two kills and two total blocks.
Ian Miranda was also strong at the net, registering four total blocks.
New Paltz was led by Nick Denoncourt's game-high 12 kills, while Mitchell Kennedy dished out 34 assists. As a team, New Paltz hit .382 (41 kills / 15 errors / 68 total attacks).
In the second match of the day, Miranda led Brooklyn with three kills against Cairn.
Kevin Bautista had five digs and three assists.
Cairn's Matthew Rhodes posted a match-high 10 kills, as the hosts hit an impressive .417 (33 kills / 8 errors / 60 total attacks). Josiah Buss recorded nine aces on the day, as the team combined for 19 aces in the match. Alex Lower paced the offense with 18 assists, while Buss added 12 assists.
Brooklyn will be back in action this Tuesday, March 3rd, as the Bulldogs will host Eastern Mennonite University. The match is scheduled for a 6:00 pm start time at the West Quad Center.
