Box Score 2 New York, NY --- The Brooklyn College Men's Volleyball team split its City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) multi-match on Saturday, as the Bulldogs defeated borough rival Medgar Evers College in a five-set thriller, before falling to host CCNY in straight sets.
Starting off the day against Medgar Evers, Brooklyn was led to victory by the duo of
Vaughn Ford (14 kills and 15 assists) and
Shawn Varghese (13 kills and 16 assists).
Ian Miranda also had a solid game with seven kills, while
Yeiky Rivera,
Dickson Feng and Ford all registered seven digs.
Moaz Ali Choudhary was strong at the net with two solo blocks and two block assists.
Medgar Evers was led by Jamal Chance's 13 kills and 11 digs. Angel Seda paced the Cougars' offense with 25 assists, while Omasanjuwa Ofuya added eight total blocks (five assist) and five kills.
Against CCNY, Brooklyn was led by Varghese (five kills, six digs and four assists) and Choudhary (four kills). Ford chipped in with seven digs, three kills and three assists.
The Beavers' Anthony Reyes (15 kills and 14 digs) and Leudy Veras (10 kills) led the way for CCNY. Oleksandr Boychuk paced the offense with 35 assists, while Leonel Pascual was solid defensively with 12 digs.
Brooklyn will conclude its regular season on Tuesday, March 31st, as the Bulldogs will host John Jay College in a CUNYAC matchup. The game is scheduled for a 6:00 pm start time at the West Quad Center.
