Box Score Brooklyn, NY---Playing in their regular season home finale, the Bulldogs women's soccer team fell to visiting Stockton, 5-0, but the home crowd was more than proud of the squad, and their senior send-off, as 10 seniors,
Jasmine Fermin,
Sayla Flores,
Jordan Kerwin,
Leslie Gomez,
Jomhara Palacios,
Selene Ahuatl,
Olivia Ponce,
Samantha Rodriguez, Adeline Monfil and
Sangam Gurung, were honored prior to the game.
The senior class played a huge role in the team grabbing this year's CUNYAC regular season title, and five of the seniors (Fermin, Flores, Kerwin, Gomez and Gurung) were members of both of the CUNYAC Championship (2013 & 2014) squads that made NCAA Tournament appearances in consecutive seasons. Fermin, Flores, Kerwin and Gomez have all gotten all-conference nods throughout their careers as Bulldogs as well.Â
Tonight's game saw Brooklyn fall to 7-7-2 overall, while Stockton improved to 11-6-2. Â The Ospreys are just one of many tough non-conference opponents that Coach
Patrick Horne and the Bulldogs put on the schedule this season to help prepare for conference play, and it did just that for Brooklyn as they finished the CUNYAC regular season schedule a perfect 6-0.
Stockton's Adriana Boucher and Jill DiBlasi carried the Ospreys offense tonight, as Boucher had a game-high two goals, both of which were assisted by DiBlasi.
DiBlasi also assisted on a goal by Abigayle Musto, while Lindsey Thomas and Christina Kenney also found the net for Stockton tonight.
Brooklyn will be on the road to close out their regular season on Saturday as they travel to Jersey City to take on NJCU in another bout against a New Jersey Athletic Conference opponent.
