Box Score 2 New York, NY---The Brooklyn College men's volleyball team fell in two CUNYAC matches today in a conference mutli-match hosted by John Jay this afternoon. In their first match of the afternoon the Builldogs dropped a 2-3 (25-16, 25-23, 23-25, 20-25, 8-15) battle to College of Staten Island. Later on in the day, BC fell to host, John Jay, 1-3 (13-25, 23-25, 25-19, 21-25). The Bulldogs move to 4-9 overall and 1-3 in the CUNYAC with the defeats.
BC jumped out to a 2-0 lead to start their opening match of the day. However, Staten Island responded by squeezing out back-to-back games by a combined four points. They would go on to win the tie-breaker by the largest margin in the later games. Freshman
Vaughn Titus led the Bulldogs with 19 kills and three service aces. Sophomore captain
Rudy Zhao added 12 kills. Freshman
Sayuj Zachariah finished with 40 assists.
Getting better as the match went on against John Jay, the Bulldogs came close to forcing a tie-breaker. Unfortunately, BC squandered an 8-2 advantage to start the fourth game. Tied 17-17, the Bloodhounds scored three straight for some light to close out the match.
The Bulldogs won the third game in relatively convincing fashion, scoring the final four points of the game in a row.
Rudy Zhao led the way for the Bulldogs in th second match, finishing with 16 kills.
Vaughn Titus added ten kills.
Sayuj Zachariah finished with 29 assists. Freshman
Hosep Ohanian ended the match with a team-high 15 digs.
